Bella · Chiang Mai

A personal invitation for Heather

Bella’s Journey
to Chiang Mai

September / October 2026 — TBD

The reason I thought of you first is simple.
Bella trusts you, and so do I.

Di

01Why You

Someone she already knows

The right person for Bella’s journey.

When I started planning Bella’s move to Chiang Mai, you were the first person I thought of. Bella already knows you, feels safe with you, and I trust the way you care for her.

This is not simply because I need help. It is because I believe you are the right person for Bella’s journey.

Familiar Care
“Familiar care makes a long journey feel smaller.”

Bella already knows your voice, your presence and the feeling of being safe with you.

02The Plan

A simple handoff

Di sets up home first.
Heather brings Bella home.

Di will travel to Chiang Mai first, approximately two weeks before Bella, to find a home and complete the setup. Heather’s role is to help prepare Bella for travel and accompany her safely from Canada to Chiang Mai.

03The Journey

How I imagine this journey

A shared plan, from preparation to arrival.

This is how I currently imagine us preparing for Bella’s journey and helping her arrive safely in Chiang Mai.

Before departure

Build familiarity and prepare every detail.

  • Helping coordinate Bella’s travel preparation
  • Taking Bella to any required veterinary appointment
  • Independently taking Bella to at least one vet visit before departure
  • Assisting with required travel documents
  • Coordinating with the airline and confirming Bella’s reservation
During travel

Keep Bella safe, calm and comfortable.

  • Accompanying Bella from Canada to Chiang Mai
  • Keeping Bella safe and comfortable during the journey
  • Bringing Bella’s essential belongings

Bella’s essentials

A little piece of home, packed for the journey.

  • Approximately one month of cat food
  • A small amount of litter
  • Bella’s favourite towel
  • Water bowl
  • Travel and daily essentials

Heather’s relocation responsibilities are complete once Bella arrives safely in Chiang Mai.

04Before Bella Flies

The two weeks before

Familiar support while Di prepares Bella’s new home.

Di plans to travel to Chiang Mai approximately two weeks before Bella in order to find a home and complete the setup. During this transition period, Heather will continue providing the support she has already provided during Di’s previous trips.

Bella care

Her familiar daily rhythm.

  • Daily visits
  • Food and fresh water
  • Litter care
  • Time and companionship
  • Monitoring Bella’s behaviour and wellbeing
  • Letting Di know promptly if there are any concerns
Move-out support

A calm final handoff.

  • Final house cleaning
  • Organizing remaining belongings
  • Preparing the home for the landlord’s inspection
  • Helping with key handover or other move-out coordination if needed
Separate from Bella’s CAD $1,500 relocation service.

These services will simply continue under our familiar arrangements and usual rates, just as they have during previous pet-sitting and cleaning visits. Nothing new needs to be worked out; this note only makes the transition plan clear.

A familiar rhythm

The most important thing is that Bella continues to feel safe, known and at home throughout the transition.

09Transition Support

Alongside Bella’s journey

A little support while Di prepares to move overseas.

These are simply a few small ways to make the transition easier while Di prepares to move overseas.

This support is separate from Bella’s CAD $1,500 relocation service.

Di’s role
  • Select the items to sell
  • Take photos
  • Create and publish the Marketplace listings
  • Set the asking and minimum acceptable price
  • Make final pricing decisions
  • Remove each listing after Heather confirms the sale
Heather’s role
  • Take and store the sale items at her home
  • Reply to buyer text messages
  • Arrange pickup times
  • Meet the buyer
  • Confirm payment before releasing the item
  • Update the shared tracking form after each pickup

The Marketplace listing will direct buyers to text Heather rather than message Di through Facebook.

Marketplace tracking

One simple shared record.

Di will create a simple, mobile-friendly form for Heather. Di provides the item details first; Heather adds the sale details after pickup.

Updating the form allows Di to remove the sold Marketplace listing promptly and keep the sales record accurate.

Marketplace supportCAD $20

per completed sale

Each sold item counts as one completed sale. If one buyer purchases two items, the compensation is CAD $40.

Additional work outside the normal pickup process may be paid at the existing hourly rate of CAD $35/hour.

Remaining household items

Simple is more important than perfect.

Di’s priority is a simple move, not finding the perfect outcome for every remaining item.

Before leaving Canada, Di will identify the items she would like to sell through Marketplace. Anything not listed can simply be treated as something Di no longer needs.

Heather is welcome to keep, donate, sell or give away any of those items if she wishes. There is no expectation for her to spend extra time finding buyers, recipients or new homes for them.

If Heather would rather not handle the remaining items, she can simply gather them together in one place. Di will arrange and pay separately for junk removal.

If Heather chooses to spend extra time keeping, selling, donating or giving something away, that is completely up to her. It is optional and separate from the work Di is asking her to do.

10Heather’s Choice

Take your time

Choose what feels most comfortable.

When you feel ready, choose an option below. You are also very welcome to speak with Di in person or by text instead.

Because Bella’s travel preparation may need to begin before the end of this month, it would be very helpful if you could let me know your decision within three days of receiving this invitation.

A simple yes, no, or request to talk through a few changes is completely fine. I just need enough time to begin the next steps or make another plan if needed.

Please let me know within three days of receiving this invitation. This will give me enough time to begin Bella’s travel documents and arrangements before the end of the month.

Whatever you decide, I’m grateful for the care you have already given Bella and for all the ways you have helped us.
